  • JUNIORS- Three Levelland Girls Little Dribblers All-Star Teams traveled to Canton, Tx to compete in the Little Dribblers National Tournament. The junior girls’ team were national runner-up!     The Sundown Roughnecks tallied 15 runs in the first inning on their way to a 23-2 home win over the Smyer Bobcats in UIL District 4-2A High School Baseball action last Tuesday.

    Jeffrey Rodgrigues took the win, going four innings and allowing two runs on three hits with four strikeouts and a walk.

    Rian Rose gave up one hit and had one strikeout in an inning of relief.

    Aiden Martinez took the loss. Over 1/3 inning he gave up seven runs on two hits with one strikeout and four walks.

    Austin Martinez allowed five runs on five hits with two strikeouts and four walks in three innings of relief.

    Shawn Barrett allowed six runs on three hits with three walks. Matheu Corder pitched 2/3 inning with one hit and five runs and three walks.

    For Sundown, Jaryn Flores had three runs, a hit and two RBIs. Koy Torres had three runs, two hits and three RBIs.

    Rodrigues had two runs, a hit and an RBI. Hunter Tindol had two runs, two hits and four RBIs. Jaxon Rodriguez had three runs and a hit. Rayden Flores had two runs and an RBI.

    Rose had a run, three hits and four RBIs. Jayson Martinez had two runs. Hunter Clark had three runs, a hit and two RBIs.

    For Smyer, Aiden Martinez had two hits. Caleb Clausen had a run. Ben Steele had a run and two hits.

    Friday the Roughnecks hosted Tahoka and the Bobcats were in Post on Saturday.

    Sundown is now third in district with a 5-3 record. Smyer drops to fourth with a 3-5 record.

    The Ropes Eagles took a 3-2 lead in the top of the third inning on their way to a 14-5 road win over the Tahoka Bulldogs in UIL District 4-2A High School Baseball action last Tuesday.

    Kade Franklin took the win, allowing two runs on two hits with seven strikeouts and four walks.

    Bode Franklin allowed two hits with five strikeouts and a walk in two innings of relief. Braxxin Partington gave up three runs on three hits in relief.

    Mason Marmolejo had two runs and a hit. Garrett Gilliam had three runs, three hits and five RBIs.

    Partington had a run, four hits and three RBIs. Logan Delgado had a hit, as did Kade Franklin. Hunter Torres had two runs, two hits and two RBIs.

    Branson Beck had a run, two hits and two RBIs. Brady Bryan had a run and a hit. Bode Franklin had two runs and two hits.

    Nate Brooks had a run and an

    RBI.

    The Eagles hosted sundown on Saturday morning.

    Ropes sits in second place ahead of Sundown and Smyer with a 9-1 record.
