Walk-off has LHS tied for second

A walk-off double from Wyatt Bacchus in the bottom of the 11 inning gave the Levelland Lobos an 8-7 home win over the Estacado Matadors in UIL District 5-4A High School Baseball Action last Tuesday.

Baccus’ stick continues to be red hot. In the Lobos previous district game, Baccus helped the Lobos’ offense crush Sweetwater, 16-5.

During the contest, he drove in four runs on three hits.

Baccus drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the second, and a double in the fifth.

He also scored three times while on the base pads.

Levelland trailed 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth inning until a sacrifice fly from Rusty Johnson drove in the tying run.

Tyler Pemberton got the win for Levelland. He went 1/3 inning with no runs, no hits and no walks.

Brayden Moore started on the mound for the Lobos. He went four innings, allowing seven runs on four hits with two strikeouts and four walks.

Carson Boggs went 6 2/3 innings in relief, allowing three hits with six strikeouts and five walks.

Joel Pena had a run, a hit and two RBIs. Noah Tienda had an RBI. Boggs had a run and a hit.

Johnson had two hits and two RBIs.

Marco Guillen had a run and a hit. Bacchus had a run, two hits and two RBIs. Pemberton had a hit.

Jerry Haile had two runs, a hit and an RBI. Alex Cervantez had a run.

Overall, Levelland moved to 16-9 and 3-2 in district, which has the Lobos sitting tied for second with Big Spring.

Levelland will look to carry their moment with them on the road.

Thr Lobos traveled to San Angelo Lakeview Friday evening.

Tuesday, the Lobos will be in Big Spring with second place potentially on the line.
