Hockley county election results

Following the May 6, General Election, the Hockley County Elections Office released the final results of all local elections within the county.

The City of Levelland had one local election regarding the street maintenance sales tax. There were 110 votes in favor of the sales tax, while there were 13 votes against it.

For the City of Sundown, citizens had one local election regarding property tax. There were 53 votes against the tax change and 22 votes for the change.

Smyer ISD had a trustee election with three candidates with the top two winning. Anthony Maye led with 58 votes, Jason Neal totaled 48 votes and Mark ramirez finished with 36 votes.

Ropes ISD had a trustee election for seat one with three candidates and top candidate winning. Keila Ketchersid led with 142 votes, Donald Rhoads had 114 votes and Kasey Davis totaled 40 votes.

Ropes ISD also had a trustee election for seat two with four candidates and the top candidate winning. Caleb Michael Henson led with 86 votes, Donnie Halpain had 36 votes, Shawn Reeves totaled 24 votes and Jody Brooks finished with five votes.

Anton ISD had a trustee election with the top two candidates winning. Nancy Moore led with 146 votes, Kirk Carlisle had 48 votes, Laurie Perez had 42 votes and Amber Cooper finished with 31 votes.
