5/13/2023 – 2300 block of Sunrise Lane
The Levelland Police Department was contacted to assist the Hockley County Sherriff’s Department regarding an assault that occurred in both the City of Levelland and Hockley County. After conducting an investigation, it was determined that a family violence crime had been committed. The report described the assault as domestic violence with no arrests at the time.
5/10/2023 – 1300 block of Avenue S
An officer executed an arrest for possession of marijuana following a welfare check at a residence on the 1300 block of Avenue S at 11:26 p.m.
5/9/2023 – Levelland Middle School
The police department responded to Levelland Middle School to speak with a suicidal juvenile. The report states an officer spoke with the individual and they were released back to class.
5/9/2023 – 1300 block of College Avenue
An officer responded to Burger King on College Avenue at 11 a.m. regarding criminal mischief. A report for criminal mischief was later generated and closed due to the suspect and victim agreeing upon payment. The report states it will now be handled civilly.
5/7/2023 – 100 block of Detroit Avenue
An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Detroit Avenue at approximately at 2:39 p.m. in reference to criminal mischief. After conducting a field investigation, 5/5/2023 – 800 block of Avenue K
An officer initiated a motor vehicle stop near the 800 block of Avenue K on a vehicle for an expired registration at 1:02 p.m. After a roadside investigation, the driver was taken into custody for an outstanding local warrant. The individual was delivered to the Levelland Municipal Court to satisfy the judgement in the warrant.
5/5/2023 – 1500 block of 2nd Street
An officer initiated contact with a bicyclist on the 1500 block of 2nd Street at approximately 2:03 p.m. The bicyclist was known to have an active local bond surrender warrant. The bicyclist was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Hockley County Jail.
5/5/2023 – 300 block of Douglas Street
An officer observed a call for an ambulance on a department issued iPad and proceeded to the 300 block of Detroit Avenue at approximately 4:09 p.m. After conducting a field investigation, one male individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
5/4/2023 – Intersection of Austin Street and Avenue E
An officer checked out an individual who claimed someone damaged a rental vehicle he was using. The report says the man claimed that someone had thrown a lighter in his passenger seat while he was inside Stripes gas station and it burned.
