Sundown ISD will hold a school board meeting Monday at 6 p.m. in the board room.
Items on the agenda include: - ESSER III review a required six-month review of Return to In-Person Instruction Plan.
- Review and discuss the proposed 2023-2024 budget. This will include time for input from patrons of the Sundown ISD School District.
- Consider approval of the operational budget for the 20232024 school year.
- Consider approval of minutes from the regular board meeting held Monday May 15.
- Consider approval of the finance report for the month.
- Consider approval of budget amendment for the 2022-2023 school year.
- Consider proposal for an auditor to conduct an efficiency audit in accordance with TEC 11.184 to be completed by Sept. 15.
- Consider approval of honors courses at the high school for UIL eligibility for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Consider approval of policy update 121 including local board policies CFB, CKE, CKED, CLB, CRF, CVA, CVB, DEA, FD and FFI.
- Consider approval of local board policies as necessary for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Consider approval of student code of conduct, drug deterrent plan, district plan, employee handbooks, board or district goals and superintendent goals for the 2023-2024 school year, as well as reviewing suggested student and campus, band, cheerleading and athletic handbooks.
- Allow an opportunity for principals, business manager, athletic director and superintendent to discuss the following: campus academics, maintenance and transportation activities, calendar of events, legislative activities, extracurricular activities, business officer operations, personnel hires and resignations.
- The board may wish to go into executive session to discuss personnel matters under section two g as noted on the notice. The purpose of the session is to consider employment of personnel for the 2023-2024 school year and to do a formative evaluation of the superintendent.
- Consider employment of personnel for the 2023-2024 school year as needed.
