The Leadership Levelland will be having their annual program set this year from September 2023 through May 2024.
The program will provide quality leadership training to motivate and encourage civic leaders to develop personal leadership characteristics and skills with in themselves.
Participants will also be given information on the history, government, social needs and opportunities existing processes. The course will be an eightmonth course and every other year after that. It will be based on tuition. Tuition is $975 and is not refundable if the course is not completed. Tuition costs will cover transportation, classroom activities, presenters, meals, official Leadership Levelland shirts and other program supplies.
Participate’s will have a mandatory team building retreat a followed by an eight-hour class day each month. The classes will teach you professional development including time management, life balance, goal setting, personality studies, human interaction and leadership skills development.
The afternoon classes will include meeting community leaders and industry tours showcasing local educational facilities, economic development, law enforcement , local judicial process, medical industry, oil field and energy manufacturing and agriculture. There will be a graduation celebration for all participants that attended all courses.
A commitment of application and employment must be submitted. The times and dates are as follows: The first meeting will be set for Tuesday, September 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Studebaker’s located at 520 Ave H. The meeting will include a welcome and orientation luncheon to begin the program.
October’s meetings are slated for Friday, October 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 1: 30p.m. at South Plains College, Sundown Room. The meeting will include an annual Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Recognition Lunch. An event ticket included is in the tuition.
The second meeting of the month will be Tuesday, October 10, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Spirit Ranch, Getting to Know You! Speaker Matt Rush will be in attendance and more information about Rush can be found at www.mattrush.com. The meeting will include a team building and personality traits topics at Spirit Ranch in Lubbock. Transportation will be provided and all will ride together. The meeting is mandatory to attend.
The last meeting of the month will be Tuesday, October 31, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meeting will be a community tour about agriculture.
The next meeting will be Monday, December 11, from 8:30 a.m to 5 p.m. at Levelland City Hall. There will be a community tour that covers the county, city, government and law enforcement. The January meeting will held Tuesday, January 16, from 8:30 a.m to 5p.m. located at 704 11th Street at the Levelland Administration Board Room. The speaker will be Randy Anderson with a topics being “The Life Plan” and “The Essential Elements for Living a Life of Excellence.” There will be a community tour for education. The next meeting will be held Tuesday, February 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. located at 1900 S. College Avenue Covenant Hospital Atrium Room. The speaker will be Anderson with the topic being “Time Management & Organizational Skills, The 25 hour day- Improving your time Management and Organization Skills.” A community medical tour will be given.
The following meeting will be Tuesday, March 5, from 8 a.m. to 5p.m. The location will be determined at a later point. The topic will be “Live Your Brand and a Community tour on Oilfield, Energy.” The meeting speaker will be Aaron Alejandro.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, April 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the location being determined at a later point. The topic will be “Supervisor 101.” A community tour on manufacturing will be given. The speaker will be Jody Holland Holland’s website is www.jodyholland.com.
The last meeting will be Tuesday, May 7 with a graduation celebration slated for 6:30 p.m. and will end at 8 p.m. in the South Plains College Sundown Room. The speaker of the event will be Matt Rush.
