STAND OFF - The Levelland Police Department, Hockley County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, DEA, ATF and Department of Public Safety conducted an operation Friday morning in Levelland where federal court orders were issued for the apprehension and arrest of several individuals within the City of Levelland. A press release from the LPD explained that once one of the individuals in the court order was identified to be located in the 600 block of Austin Street. After making contact with the residence, the suspect immediately barricaded himself and refused to cooperate with public safety personnel. Several more personnel were requested at the scene to secure the area and ensure the safety of the citizens. At that time, the FBI Tactical Unit assumed operational control. After roughly an hour and a half, the suspect was taken into custody with no injuries. More information will be made available in terms of the operation when allowed.
