The City of Levelland will be holding a regular meeting Monday, September 11, at City Hall beginning at 6 p.m.
Agenda items slated for the meeting are as follows: Consider and take necessary action to approve the minutes of the August 21 regular meeting and the August 28 special meeting; Staff update on the progress of the investigation into the Red Flour Beetles in the Kaufman Addition.
Hold a public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2023-2024 budget; Consider and take necessary action to approve Resolution 2023-26 adopting the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 City of Levelland Budget; Consider and take necessary action to ratify the property tax increase reflected in the proposed Fiscal Year 2023- 2024 City of Levelland Budget; Hold a public hearing on the proposed Tax Rate for fiscal year 2023-2024; Consider and take necessary action to approve Ordinance No. 1075 setting the 2023 tax rate by setting the Maintenance and Operation component of the 2023 tax rate (General Fund and Cemetery Fund) and the Debt component of the 2023 tax rate. (Interest and Redemption Fund); Consider and take necessary action on Ordinance No. 1076 setting Utility Rate (Sewer improvement Fee) on a first reading; Consider and take necessary action on a Fire Service Agreement with Hockley County to provide fire suppression in the county; and Consider and take necessary action on Resolution No. 2023-27 authorizing the submission of a grant application, Grant No. 4643001, with the Criminal Justice Grants Division of the Office of the Governor for a Bullet-Resistant Shield Grant Program Grant.
