9/16/2023 - DISPATCHED - 2:10 P.M. - CLEARED 2:54 P.M. LEVELLAND Levelland EMS requested the assistance of the LFD at a residence within the 1400 block of E. Ellis Street. While enroute, EMS canceled their call for assistance.
9/15/2023 - DISPATCHED 2:10 A.M. - CLEARED 2:54 A.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The LFD received reports of a fire alarm at a residence located in the 1400 block of W. Ellis Street. Upon arrival, crews noticed a security gate. The LFD contacted dispatch regarding the gate and asked for a deputy to be dispatched. Once on scene, the deputy drove around the residence and verified there was no smoke or fire. After repeated attempts to contact the homeowner, the scene was cleared.
9/15/2023 - DISPATCHED 3:20 A.M. - CLEARED 6:10 A.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received dispatch reports of a vehicle on fire near the 100 block of Flint Avenue. Upon arrival, LPD personnel were already working to extinguish the fire. Fire crews took over the scene and contacted the fire marshal. The cause of the fire was undetermined at the time.
9/13/2023 - DISPATCHED 4 P.M. - CLEARED 4:26 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a report of a kitchen fire at a residence in the 200 block of Maple Street. Upon arrival, the homeowner had extinguished the fire but heavy smoke and heat were still present in the home. Fire personnel set up ventilation until the hazards were gone.
9/11/2023 - DISPATCHED 6:32 A.M. - CLEARED 4:47 A.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a call from a residence of the 140 block of Detroit Drive needing assistance resetting a fire alarm and overall system reset.
9/10/2023 - DISPATCHED 11:35 P.M. - CLEARED 1:15 A.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The LFD received a report of a lightning strike causing a grass fire near the 3900 block of Nashville Road. Fire crews responded to the call and extinguished the hot spots.
9/8/2023 - DISPATCHED 4:25 P.M. - CLEARED 4:45 A.M. LEVELLAND The LFD responded to a grass fire in an alley way in the 300 block of Cherry Street. Fire personnel extinguished the fire and all hot spots before clearing the scene.
9/7/2023 - DISPATCHED 5:03 P.M. - CLEARED 6:03 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The LFD received a call from dispatch regarding a major vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 114 and Killdee Road. Wolforth Fire Department was also contacted due to location of the incident.
9/7/2023 - DISPATCHED 2:11 P.M. - CLEARED 3:14 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a call from a contractor that they had hit a gas line in an alley way in the 1700 block of Houston Street. Atmos was contacted while fire personnel were enroute and made contact with the contractor. The leak was located and secured until Atmos was able to fix the leak.
9/5/2023 - DISPATCHED 9:15 P.M. - CLEARED 11 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a call in reference to a suspected gas leak at the science building on the South Plains College campus. While enroute, Atmos Energy was also notified of the suspected leak. Upon arrival, fire personnel detected natural gas with a Tri-Gas monitor on the outside of the building. Fire crews and campus police isolated the area and Atmos personnel notified LFD dispatch of a 10-15 minute respond time around 9:46 p.m. Once Atmos personnel arrived to the scene, the leak area was isolated and fire crews were released.
9/2/2023 - DISPATCHED 3:35 P.M. - CLEARED 3:43 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a call in reference to a nine-month-old child locked in a running vehicle at a residence located in the 800 block of Avenue C. Dispatch also notified Bush Wrecker Service. Upon arrival, fire personnel was able to make soft entry into the vehicle. The child was removed from the vehicle and not require medical attention.
9/2/2023 - DISPATCHED 12:13 P.M. - CLEARED 12:35 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a report of a smell of gas from an apartment located in the 200 block of Hickory Street. Units were dispatched to the residence. Upon arrival, fire personnel searched for the source of the gas smell. After checking the residence, no gas source was determined.
9/1/2023 - DISPATCHED 5:37 P.M. - CLEARED 6:15 P.M. LEVELLAND LFD personnel responded to the 1700 block of 10th Street in reference to a truck trailer on fire. Upon arrival, individuals at the scene had put the fire out. Units proceeded to wet down the area before returning to the station.
