The Levelland Cross Country team ran this past Saturday at the Sundown Oil Patch Invitational where the boys team took second place out of 13 teams and the girls team took first place out of 11.
For the girls team their best runner was Evelyn Mendias who took fourth place for the girls with a time of 14:26. Her teammates did fantastic as well as Emily Ramirez was able to secure the eighth spot and Avani Lopez was able to secure the number 10 spot overall for the girls. The best three girls for Levelland all earned top 10 to propel the Loboettes to take the top spot of the meet. Other Loboettes such as Betty Torres earned 24th, Alanis Valderas earned 25th, Georgia McMahan earned 36th, and Tea Johnson earned 48th . The team had a overall score of 63 with New Deal right behind them in second place with a score of 67
The boys team did good as well as their best runner of the day was Ryan Jeannert who finished in third place of the meet with a time of 18:27 for the day. Teammates Saul Hernandez and Ben Childers were able to finish in the top 11 of the meet with Saul coming in seventh place and Ben finishing in 11th. Other Lobos Zaden Carrillo finished in 13th place, Angel Miranda finished in 20th, Anson McMahan finished in 33rd and Gavin French was able to finish in 42nd place of the meet. The Lobos did fantastic as were able to finish in second place overall
Both teams will run again this Saturday at the LCU Preview before they start district where they will run at Mae Simmons with the time to be determined.
