A Hockley County Grand Jury recently returned 15 indictments through the 286th District Court.
Jesse Daniel Bernal, 27, was charged with Unauthorized Use of Vehicle. On or about August 5, Bernal knowingly operated a motor vehicle without the effective consent of Brent “Bret” Faerber, the owner.
Taylor Scott Cravens, 30, was charged with the Burglary of a Building. On or about August 10, Cravens knowingly entered a building or portion of a building without the effective consent of Brett Butler, the owner and attempted to commit or committed theft of property. Bond was issued in the amount of $10,000.
Luis Antonio Flores, 25, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One, 1-B less than one gram. On or about August 17, Flores knowingly possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine, in an amount of less than one gram.
Wesley Roger Harrell, 63, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or more. On or about August 26, Harrell operated a motor vehicle in a public placed will intoxicated. Additionally, the defendant has two previous Driving While Intoxicated convictions which occurred on August 30, 2018, in Lubbock County and April 6, in Lamb County. Bond was issued to $4,000.
Leanna Davila, 20, was charged with the Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One, 1-B less than one gram. On or about September 16, Davila knowingly possessed a controlled substance, Fentanyl, in an amount less than one gram. Bond was issued in the amount of $5,000.
Emanuel Simon Martinez, 40, was charged with Possession of Substance Penalty Group One, between one gram and four grams. On or about September 5, Martinez knowingly possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine, in an amount of less than four grams but more than one gram. Bond was issued in the amount of $7,500.
Eric Brandon Evans, 37, was charged with the Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One, 1-B between one gram and four grams. On or about September 30, Evans knowingly possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine, in an amount of more than one gram and less than four grams.
A second count states Evans intentionally and knowingly threatened to cause harm to a Levelland Police Officer by assaulting him in retaliation. Bond was issued in the amount of $4,500.
Eric Brandon Evans, 37, was charged with attempted Burglary of Habitation. On or about October 23, Evans attempted to enter a habitation without the effective consent of Vicentia Johnson Griffin, with the intent to commit theft.
Anthony Joseph Sena, 24, was charged with the Unauthorized Use of Vehicle. On or about November 17, 2022, Sena knowingly operated a motor vehicle without the effective consent of Antajawell Nelson, the owner. Bond was issued in the amount of $6,000.
Raymond Salazar Flores, 34, was charged with Tamper, Fabricate Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair. On or about May 16, knowing that in investigation was in progress during a traffic stop, concealed a baggie containing a green leafy substance by tossing it out the window of the motor vehicle with the intent to impair its availability as evidence. Bond was issued in the amount of $1,000.
Ryan Alexander Trevino, 24, was charged with Aggravated Assault Causes Serious Bodily Injury. On or about August 17, Trevino recklessly caused serious bodily injury to a male individual by striking him in the torso with a bat, kicking him in the torso with his foot and striking the individual in the face with his fist.
Daren Jackson, 41, was charged with the Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One, 1-B less than one gram. On or about September 7, knowingly possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine, in an amount of less than one gram. Bond was issued in the amount of $5,000.
Stephanie Simnacher, 55, was charged with Aggravated Assault, Threat with a Deadly Weapon and Assault Family, Household Member Previous Conviction. On or about August 15, intentionally threatened a male individual with imminent bodily injury and used or exhibited a deadly weapon during the commission of the assault.
A second count states Simnacher intentionally caused bodily injury to the same male individual with whome the defendant had a household relationship by hitting him on the head with an unknown blunt object. Also, the defendant used or exhibited a firearm as a deadly weapon during the assault.
Additionally, the defendant has a previous family violence conviction for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Member in Lubbock County on March 11, 2005. Bond was issued in the amount of $25,000.
Ricardo Angel Flores, 18, was charged with Evading Arrest, Detention with Vehicle. While using a vehicle, Flores intentionally fled from a Hockley County Sheriff’s Deputy, a person the defendant knew was a peace officer who was attempting to lawfully arrest or detain the defendant. Bond was issued in the amount of $7,500.
Julia Galvan, 26, was charged with the Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One, 1-B less than one gram. On or about September 5, knowingly possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine, in an amount less than one gram.
