The Morton Indians football team earned themselves all district awards this year for their great play in the 2A-2 Region 1 District 4 football season.
Newcomer of the year for the Indians was sophomore Quarterback Dante Chavez who had 1,297 yards through the air and 810 yards on the ground. He had 18 touchdown passes while having another eight rushing them in.
2nd Team Offense for the Indians were Christain Enriquez who was one of two running backs taken, Alex Lopez (Receiver) and Britton Boggs (Offensive Line).
1st Team Defense for Morton players were Cade Lyon (Inside Linebacker), Zeph Silvas (Corner) and Brayden Villareal (Punter).
2nd Team Defense players were Andres Bejarano (Defensive Line), Lane Lyon (Outside Linebacker), A.J. Mendoza (Corner), Jaeden Alvarado and Brayden Villareal (Safeties).
Honorable Mentions were players E.J. Rivas, Ismael Teniente, Luis Yanez and Hezekiah Silvas.
Academic All-District players were Dante Chavez, Zeph Silvas, A.J. Mendoza, Cade Lyon and Lane Lyon.
The Morton Indians finished their season with a record of 6-6 finishing fourth in district behind New Home, Ropes and Seagraves on the year.
