A two vehicle wreck around noon on Monday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 385 and American Road resulted in one death and two injured.
A preliminary report from DPS states, roughly 1.6 miles north of Levelland, a 2007 Jeep Liberty was being operated by Andrew Mitchell Canon, 21, of Levelland and Joseph McBrannon Canon, 25, of Levelland was in the passenger seat both traveling east on American Road, approaching U.S. 385.
The second vehicle was operated by James Michael Dewbre, 50, of Littlefield. Dewbre was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado heading north on U.S. 385, approaching the intersection with American Road and collided with the Jeep.
The report states the Jeep failed to stop at the stop sign on American Road and collided with the Silverado. Dewbre was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. Both occupants in the Jeep were transported to Covenant Hospital in Lubbock for serious injuries.
