Another Day With Dom!

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season and I also encourage individuals to take some time for themselves for a little relaxation.

At this point I feel like a lot of us are pushing through the daily grind of our responsibilities to get the job done at hand and regardless of how old or how long you have been going through the motions, it can be tiresome and eventually burn us out.

I know there are some individuals who believe they can eat nails for breakfast and work 15-hour shifts for eternity but not everyone is built like an absolute unit who runs off of whiskey and tears of their enemies.

I encourage people to spend time with their loved ones, pick up a hobby or enjoy the ones they already have from time to time because going through the motions during the holiday time can feel lousy.

A lot of older individuals I’ve chatted with don’t talk about mental health or getting out of a funk but I have noticed my fair share of those people needing help to get themselves out of a hole.

If you aren’t in that particular situation think about a few of your friends or loved ones who have lost someone and their heading into the holiday season without that person. Things happen to us during our day-today lives and I feel that its important to check up on the ones we care about.

A phone call to that friend or family member you haven’t spoken to or seen in a while will perk up anybody’s spirits. We are all human and go through emotions. Some not great and it is important for us to find the brighter side of things.

During the last holiday season my grandmother received the news that she had cancer. It virtually put a pause on any plans of gathering to celebrate and turned into gathering in the hopes we lift her spirits while she fought for her health.

Sitting in the hospital and saying prayer after prayer was the day-to-day for many of my family members including myself. Coming into this holiday season I couldn’t be happier to say she has made her full recovery and I am extremely thankful.

While it may not be health related, people are trying to make ends meet for holidays, trying to provide for families and that takes a toll on the mental aspect of individuals.

I encourage everyone to be there for their family members, reach out and let them know you are thinking about them.
