With the cold and wet weather finally gracing us with its presence, I hope everyone is staying warm and dry to the best of their ability.
While I know this weather is not for most, I absolutely enjoy this weather. I always tell people that if I could live in a cold weather climate I would. I was that kid walking campus in shorts and sandals while it was sleeting and close to freezing.
I would like to encourage our readers and subscribers to exercise caution when traveling throughout the day now that the harsh weather is finally coming around. Safety is the biggest key when traveling in adverse conditions and it starts with us behind the wheel and ensuring we have enough time to make it from destination to destination comfortably.
For Levelland we have college students, high school students, families, truck drivers and anybody else on the road at one point and there are a lot of variables we do not account for on the road no matter how well we think we drive.
Additionally, I encourage individuals who own pets to be responsible. Obviously there has been a lack of responsibility on the end of animal owners since dogs and cats are roaming the community at a high number.
For those with animals that continue to do the right thing and show them love and affection, thank you for being a wonderful pet owner. As temperatures continue to drop and precipitation falls throughout the season, those animals need the proper care.
I know there will be a few folks that think their farm dog can withstand sleeping in the freezing temperatures and that is their purpose, however, I encourage you to do the same and think about how amazing that feels.
Be kind to one another during the holiday season especially on the roads and stay warm.
