The LFD was contacted for a possible gas leak that was caused by a vehicle that struck a line near a business on West Avenue. Fire personnel investigated the leak and turned off the gas until Atmos could arrive on scene.

An LFD crew was dispatched to a residence located within the 2000 block of Longhorn Drive to assist Levelland EMS and Levelland PD to make entry into the residence. Upon arrival, the LFD was notified that entry into the residence was made and the call was canceled.

An LFD crew was dispatched to a residence located in the 200 block of Redwood Lane in reference to assisting the LPD making entry into the home for a wellfare check. Upon arrival, Levelland EMS and LPD were able to gain entry into the residence and the call was canceled.

The LFD was dispatched to the 300 block of Birch Avenue in reference to a fire alarm going off in a residence. Upon arrival, the alarm was categorized as unintentional and the scene was cleared.

The LFD was dispatched to the 1800 block of Austin Street in reference to a control burn that had gotten outside of the pit. Upon arrival, there was a small tree smoldering. Fire personnel worked to extinguish the smoldering tree and objects in the pit.

An LFD crew were dispatched to U.S. Highway 84 and N. FM 2130 in reference to multiple fire spots. The crew was canceled while enroute.

An LFD crew was dispatched to the 2800 block of E. Highway 114 in reference to a grass fire in the area. With reports stating an unknown type fire being visible northeast of Smith South Plains Ford, fire crew were able to spot smoke while enroute. The crew worked to extinguish the fire and any visible signs of rekindle. The LFD sweeped the area multiple times before returning to the station.

The LFD was dispatched to the 2000 block of Harvard in regard to a gas leak in an alley. Upon arrival, fire personnel remained on standby until the leak was contained.

The LFD responded to a fire alarm at a residence located near the 2000 block of Rice Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel was canceled by the alarm company stating the alarm was accidental.

The LFD received a call regarding a strong gas odor near the area of the 1600 block of Cactus. Upon arrival, fire crews did not find any leaks or spills in the area.
12/16/2023 - DISPATCHED 1:03 P.M. - CLEARED 4:17 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY
The LFD received multiple calls in reference to a large grass fire near the intersection of Highway 114 and FM 303. Multiple fire units responded to the location near the 3300 block of W. Highway 114 and found a grass fire on the south side of the highway with a residence located east of the fire. An additional alarm was sounded for more personnel to the location. The Levelland Fire Incident Commander requested mutual aid from the Whiteface Volunteer Fire Department, Morton Volunteer Fire Department and Sundown Volunteer Fire Department. Levelland and Hockley County Emergency Management also responded to the scene. During fire suppression, the Texas Department of Transportation was also requested due to smoke reducing visibility across the highway. While the fire was contained on the east side nearest the residence, additional mutual aid was requested from Hockley County and a maintainer was sent to the location. Once a fire break was established, the fire was contained within the fire break and the remaining hot spots were extinguished.
12/15/2023 - DISPATCHED 11:55 P.M. - CLEARED 1:34 A.M. -LEVELLAND
Dispatch received a call of smoke in the attic of a residence located in the 300 block of Austin Street. Upon arrival, LFD crews observed visible smoke and fire personnel made entry into the residence. Very light smoke was located on the main floor of the house fire. Personnel checked the attic crawl space where fire and smoke were located. Following the fire being knocked down, crews began a salvage operation with sheet rock and other material being removed from around the area of origin. Any remaining fire threat was then extinguished before returning to the station.

LFD crews responded to a call of a cotton module on fire near Nightingale Road and Elk Road. Upon arrival, the fire was located as the module was isolated due to fields being wet to drive on. The module was left to burn.
12/11/2023 - DISPATCHED 1:31 A.M. - CLEARED 1:58 A.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY
LFD personnel were dispatched to a small grass fire on the east side of the road just past the Broken Spur Event Center. Units located the near the intersection of Highway 385 and Delaware Road. Mostly extinguished upon arrival, fire personnel completed the extinguishing of the fire and focused on various hot spots before returning to the station.
12/9/2023 - DISPATCHED 4:23 P.M. - CLEARED 4:33 P.M. LEVELLAND
The LFD received a call of a truck hitting a gas meter behind a business located at the 500 block of Highway 114. Upon arrival, there was no truck in the area and fire personnel checked the gas meters in the area and verified all were operating in working condition. Crews spoke with an employee of the business and were informed that a truck door hit the gas meter but no damage occurred.

The LFD received a report from dispatch regarding children on the top of a school in the 1100 block of Avenue D and were requesting a ladder. Upon arrival, fire personnel stood on a 24-foot ladder and assisted the children down.
12/9/2023 - DISPATCHED 10:10 A.M. - CLEARED 11:03 A.M. -HOCKLEYCOUNTY
United Cotton Growers requested the LFD to the area of S. Highway 385 and Koala Road in reference to a cotton module on fire. Fire personnel extinguished the module upon arrival and returned to the station.
12/8/2023 - DISPATCHED 4:38 P.M. - CLEARED 5:30 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY
The LFD received a report of a cotton stripper on fire near Grubstake Road and Black Gold Road. Upon arrival, fire crews found the stripper had dumber the basket, but the tractor still had fire spots near the compartments. The areas were extinguished before returning to service.
12/7/2023 - DISPATCHED 12:23 P.M. - CLEARED 12:33 P.M. LEVELLAND
Dispatch reported a carbon monoxide detector going off in a business located in the 700 block of Alamo Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel could not locate any carbon monoxide. After checking the business, there was noting detected and crews returned to the station.
12/6/2023 - DISPATCHED 5:08 A.M. - CLEARED 5:24 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY
The LFD received a call from LPD and EMS advising that two units were down and required help on a lift assist near the 2100 block of S. FM 2646. Fire personnel responded to the residence, however, the patient was already tended to.
12/5/2023 - DISPATCHED 6:35 P.M. - CLEARED 9 P.M. LEVELLAND
The LFD received a report of the smell of gas at a residence within the 100 block of Fannin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel with a four-gas monitor located a leak at a riser outside. The system was closed and dispatch contacted Atmos Energy. The resident stated they had contacted Atmos an hour prior but no one responded.
12/5/2023 - DISPATCHED 3:24 P.M. - CLEARED 4:45 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY
The LFD received a report of a grass fire near the 4800 block of Leon Road. Dispatch advised Anton FD was not answering requiring the LFD to handle the call. Upon arrival, Shallowater and Abernathy FD were on scene. All three departments assisted with extinguishing the fire and returned to the station.
12/5/2023 - DISPATCHED 9:44 A.M. - CLEARED 10:31 A.M. LEVELLAND
The LFD received a call of a resident in the 140 block of Elgin Avenue stating something blew up in a box. Upon arrival, fire personnel located a box on the back porch arching and contacted Xcel. As Excel cut the power, fire crews scanned the attic area to see if there was any fire. It was determined there was no fire and crews returned to the station.

Dispatch reported a structure fire in the 180 block of Mandy Circle. Upon arrival, light smoke was observed. Fire personnel made entry and extinguished the fire.
12/4/2023 - DISPATCHED 12:22 P.M. - CLEARED 2:52 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY
Dispatch reported a multi-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Highway 385 and America Road. Upon arrival, one vehicle was off the side of the roadway and another was in a field. Fire personnel worked with EMS to extricate patients from the vehicle and assisted with patient car and transport. After all patients had been extricated, fire personnel also worked with law enforcement before returning to the station.
12/3/2023 - DISPATCHED 9:37 A.M. - CLEARED 1:41 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY
The LFD received a report of a large grass fire north of Levelland located near N. Barton Lane and Florida Road. Upon arrival, multiple units started their fire attack and requested assistance from Smyer FD and state aid due to high winds. The fire was worked until there was no longer a threat before returning to the station.
