The 286th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced that a Hockley County Grand Jury convened on January 3, and considered cases against 12 individuals.
After presentations by the District Attorney’s Office and law enforcement, the Grand Jury returned 11 indictments and passed on one other case.
Randall Alan Hall, 38, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated Third or More. On or about November 14, 2023, Hall operated a motor vehicle in a public place while the defendant was intoxicated. Bond was issued in the amount of $7,500.
It was further presented that the defendant has two previous convictions for Driving While Intoxicated. On February 17, 2015, the defendant was convicted of Driving While Intoxicated in Midland County. Additionally, on March 25, 2022, the defendant was convicted of Driving While Intoxicated in Midland County.
Jason Dwayne Jones, 46, was charged with the Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One 1-B, between one gram and four grams. On or about October 18, 2023, Jones possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of more than one gram and less than four grams.
Randy Roperto Rodriguez, 53, was charged with the Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One 1B, less than one gram. On or about October 5, 2023, Rodriguez possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of less than one gram. Bond was issued in the amount of $1,500.
Charles Robert Crockett, 29, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One 1-B, between four grams and 200 grams, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon and Evading Arrest, Detention With Vehicle or Watercraft. Bond was issued in the amount of $5,000.
On or about November 9,2023, the Defendant, possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of four grams or more but less than two hundred grams.
A second count states, the defendant possessed a firearm before the fifth anniversary of the defendant’s release from confinement following conviction of the felony offense of Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle on May 17, 2022, in the 140th District Court of Lubbock County.
A third count states the defendant, while using a motor vehicle, fled from a person the defendant knew was a peace officer who was attempting lawfully to arrest or detain the defendant.
Richard Lance King, 51, was charged with Evading Arrest, Detention With Vehicle or Watercraft. Bond was issued in the amount of $4,500. On or about August 16, 2023, the defendant, while using a motor vehicle, fled from a person the defendant knew was a peace officer who was attempting lawfully to arrest or detain the defendant.
Jay Conner Smith, 20, was charged with the Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One, between one gram and four grams. On or about October l, 2023, the defendant possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, in an amount of more than one gram but less than four grams. Bond was issued in the amount of $3,000.
Adrianna Tomasa Olivares, 26, was charged with the Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One, between one gram and four grams. On or about December 4, 2023, the defendant possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, in an amount of more than one gram but less than four grams. Bond was issued in the amount of $3,000.
Josiah St. Clair, 20, was charged with Prohibited Sexual Conduct. Bond was issued in the amount of $12,500.
Craig Allen Clearly, 41, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group One 1-B, less than one gram. On or about October 3,2023, the defendant possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, in an amount of less than one gram. Bond was issued in the amount of $1,500.
Billy Leland Baigen, 17, was charged with Aggravated Assault With Deadly Weapon. On or about September 24, 2023, the defendant caused bodily injury to an individual by striking the head with a baton and, or by striking the upper torso with a baton. Additionally, the defendant used a baton as a deadly weapon which in the manner of its use was capable of causing serious bodily injury or death.
A second count states, the defendant caused bodily injury to a second individual by striking the person on the head with a baton. It was further presented that the defendant used a baton as a deadly weapon which in the manner of its use was capable of causing serious bodily injury or death.
