Ty Gregory makes some excellent points in his letter requesting a change of South Plains College Regent’s meetings to evening hours.
I have personally experienced a loss when my pharmacist (Ty) moved for what I am sure is a position in Lubbock with more promise.
He does, however, remain a Levelland resident and he along with his family have much invested in our community and South Plains College. Just because, “we’ve always done it this way does not mean that we always should.”
Please rethink this policy and make service on the board possible even for those who may have less control of their business hours. How many medical personnel, teachers, small business owners and the like just do not have the flexibility of schedule needed for the meetings under the current arrangement.
By extension, how many good SPC board members have me missed over the years?
