LISD announces ACET scholarships

Levelland High School students are eligible and highly encouraged to apply for the $1,000 Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas (ACET) Scholarship.

This scholarship is for students in the state who have at some time in their school career, been enrolled in a compensatory education program. Compensatory Education includes programs such as Title I, Bilingual/ ESL, Migrant and Homeless.

“All seniors at Levelland High School are eligible to apply as all Levelland ISD campuses are schoolwide Title I,” informs Donna P. Pugh, Director of Curriculum and Special Programs. “Because of the percentage of free and reduced lunch participants, all of our schools qualify as Title I and, therefore, our students can and should apply for this award. Title I services and funds are used to upgrade the entire educational program and increase the academic achievement for all Levelland ISD students.”

To apply, students should go to the following website: https://acetx.org/studentscholarship-application/. The applications are due by February 16th. Information about the ACET Scholarship is also available on the Levelland High School Counselors’ webpage.
