Smyer finishes season off with win 47-38

The Smyer Lady Cats finished off their season with a road win against the Ralls Lady Jackrabbits 47-38.

The first quarter of the game had Smyer on fire as they were able to get 17 points in the first while holding Ralls to just four taking a 13 point lead.

For the second quarter of play it was the opposite as Smyer was only able to get four to go while allowing Ralls to get closer and get 11 points unanswered before the half.

The score at the halftime break had Smyer leading 21-15.

The leading scorer for Smyer at the half was Maegan Smith as she had 11 points, eight of them coming from inside the paint.

Going into the third quarter of play the Lady Cats would find another gear as they had 12 points to fall for them while only letting up eight points. The Lady Cats held the lead 33-23 heading into the fourth quarter of play.

For the final quarter of play it would be a back and forth game as Smyer was narrowly outscored 15-14, but was able to hold onto the lead and finish off their season with a win.

Smith led the team in scoring with 13 points throughout the night with 11 of them coming from the front half of the game.

Jada Hernandez finished with nine points, Kaia Brandon had another eight, Rylle Riedel and Dyamond Baker both had seven points a piece, Kira Posadas had two and Vannah Jourden had one point in the teams win.

The Smyer Lady Cats finished their season with a 13-15 record finishing sixth in district with a 3-7 record.
