Agrilife plans two free profitability spreadsheet workshops during March

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host three profitability spreadsheet workshops for producers to learn how to use the tool for crop budgets.

The free workshops will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at different locations in the South Plains.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own computers; they are optional as all materials will be demonstrated on screen.

These events are sponsored by the Texas State Support Committee – Cotton Incorporated, and lunch is provided.

The first workshiop was held back in February. The second workshop will be in Dimmit, March 20 at the AgriLife Extension office in Castro County, 205 N. Broadway St.

The third workshop will be April 11 in Plainview at theAgriLife Extension office in Hale County, 205 Broadway St., Suite 6.

The following topics and speakers will be featured, including: Overview of crop budgets and profitability spreadsheet – Andrew Wright, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension economist and assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Lubbock.

Grain markets outlook – Mark Welch, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension economist and professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Bryan-College Station.

Cotton market outlook – John Robinson, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension cotton marketing economist and professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Bryan-College Station.
