Levelland drops both games over spring break

The Levelland Lobos took on the Denver City Mustangs and Littlefield Wildcats this past week over spring break where the Lobos lost both games.

Denver City 3, Levelland 1

The first run of the game came from Levelland as they were able to take advantage from an error from the catcher to send in Noah Tienda while Danny Ochoa got to third base on the same error at the bottom of the first with the score sitting at 1-0 for Levelland.

Denver City struck back at the top of the third innings from a steal at home plate by the Mustang runner to tie the game at 1-1.

Denver City would get the rest of their two runs in the game at the top of the fourth as their runner would be able to steal home twice to put the game to bed with the score sitting at 3-1 Winfield took the loss for Levelland, he gave up eight hits and three runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking two. Rance Massey threw for an inning in relief for Levelland where he didn’t allow a run on two hits, he had zero walks and strike outs.

Pemberton went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lobos in hits. The Lobos didnt commit a single error. Rusty Johnson made the most plays with eight.

Littlefield 10, Levelland 4

For the Lobos second game of Spring break they took on the Littlefield Wildcats this past Tuesday as the visiting team where they lost 10-4.

The Lobos scored four runs on one hit, they also committed eight errors and leave eight on base.

Tyler Pemberton took the loss for the Lobos as he threw three complete. He allowed eight runs (three earned) on eight hits. He would not walk a batter and strikeout four.

Noah Tienda would finish for the Lobs throwing three complete, he allowed four runs (two earned) on two hits, Tienda would not walk a batter and strikeout four in the team’s contest.

The Levelland Lobos fall to 7-7-1 on the season as they get ready to take on the Tulia Hornets this upcoming Tuesday as the visiting team at 7 p.m.
