The Levelland Lions Club recently joined with 11 other clubs in District 2T2 and cooperated with the Lions Clubs International Foundation and the Texas Lions Foundation to raise $125,900 to purchase a shuttle bus for the Ronald McDonald House of Lubbock.
The Ronald McDonald House provides housing and free transportation for economically challenged families in West Texas and eastern New Mexico who have children in Lubbock hospitals.
The shuttle bus is a 2024 Ford 450 Starcraft Allstar that has seating for thirteen passengers plus accommodations for two wheelchair passengers.
The bus is ADA compliant and has a fully automatic wheelchair lift. It replaces smaller vans which had limited capacity, were not accessible for wheelchair passengers, and which were showing age. This new shuttle bus will expand the transportation capabilities of the Ronald McDonald House and will allow disabled parents and grandparents to visit their loved ones safely.
It is often said that “where there is a need, there is a Lion.” The Lions of District 2T2 are proud to support the outstanding services of the Ronald McDonald House of Lubbock.
