Early voting begins April 22

The Hockley County Election Office is reminding registered voters that early voting for local city and school elections will begin Monday, April 22.

The City of Levelland will have a Mayoral race on the ballot and all registered voters in the City of Levelland are eligible to vote in the election.

Early Voting will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from April 22, Monday through April 30, Friday in the Hockley County Election Office at 911 Austin St. in Levelland.

Ropes ISD and Smyer ISD will also have a Trustee Election on the ballot, early voting for those entities will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday through Friday in the respective school offices.

The City of Sundown voters will vote to reauthorize the street maintenance sales tax and voting will take place at Sundown City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday-Friday, April 22-April 30.

South Plains College will have one Regent’s position on the ballot and early voting will run at all of the above locations during the same time period.

Election Day will be Saturday, May 4th and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Polling locations are listed below: City of Levelland, Hockley County Tax Office; Smyer ISD, Smyer School Library; Ropes ISD, Ropes School; and City of Sundown, Sundown City Hall.
