Levelland ISD Superintendent Becky McCutchen issued a press release Wednesday morning regarding possible district employee misconduct.
On Wednesday, April 10, the Levelland ISD administration received information regarding allegations that district employees, and possibly district students, may have engaged in misconduct. Upon learning of these allegations, the district immediately initiated an internal investigation.
On Thursday, April 11, the district informed local law enforcement of the allegations. After receiving further information from law enforcement, on Monday, April 15, the district took further action and immediately placed the employees on paid administrative leave pending further investigation. It is the district’s understanding that law enforcement’s investigation into this matter is ongoing.
The district will continue to cooperate to the fullest extent permitted by law with law enforcement and state and local agencies relating to these allegations.
Student safety is a top priority to Levelland ISD. The district strictly enforces its policies and regulations relating to district employee and student conduct. Employees receive regular training regarding such policies and the district’s expectations.
The Levelland ISD administration encourages employees, parents, and students with concerns of educator or student misconduct of any kind to immediately contact the district’s administration or the Levelland Police Department.
State and federal law prohibit the district from disclosing confidential information related to employees and students. Therefore, the district cannot comment further on this matter.
