Ropes Eagles move onto Regional Semi-Finals

The Ropes Eagles took on the Clarendon Broncos this past Thursday and Friday at Plainview High School where the Eagles won in two games.

Ropes 1, Clarendon 0

For the first game of the series, Ropes was able to win in the defensive game with a narrow score of 1-0.

The only run of the game came in the top of the third inning after Kade Franklin singled on a line drive to right field, scoring one run to make the final score of the game 1-0.

Bode Franklin earned the win for the Eagles as he gave up one hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 14 batter and walking four in the game.

Kade Franklin led the Eagles with one run batted in as he went 1-for-3 on the day. Mason Marmolejo, Franklin, Brayden Hogg and Elijah Flores each collected one hit for the Eagles.

Ropes 5, Clarendon 0

For the second game of the series Ropes was able to hold the Broncos scoreless once again as they won the game 5-0 to move onto the Regional Semi-Finals.

Ropes was able to get on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Hogg was hit by the pitch, scoring one run to make the score 1-0 early for the Eagles.

The Eagles were able to extend their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Mason Marmolejo hit a double on a line drive to left field, scoring two runs and Clarendon committed an error, scoring one run to make the score 4-0, Ropes leading

The final run of the game came from Kade Franklin hitting a double on a line drive to left field, scoring one run and giving Ropes the big win.

Kade Franklin earned the win for the Eagles as he gave up two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking one in the game.

Marmolejo went 1-for-4 at the plate as the leadoff hitter with two runs batted in. Franklin led the Eagles with two runs in three at bats. The Eagles turned in one double play in the game.

The Eagles progress to 24-6 on the season as they get ready to take on the Hawley Bearcats this Thursday and Friday at the Christensen Stadium in a best of three game series.

The first game starts at 1 p.m. on Thursday with game two directly following game one and game three being played on Friday at 1 p.m. if needed.
