City of Levelland issues a signage placement warning

The City of Levelland Inspections Department is issuing a reminder regarding signs being placed throughout the community.

Any sign attached to any tree, shrub, public light fixture, utility poles, public telephone poles, public buildings (other than an on–premises attached sign), fences, or railings are considered prohibited.

No sign or any part of the sign structure may be located on or above or encroach upon any street, alley, park, or any other public right-of-way.

This prohibition relates to all signs, including without limitation, the following: temporary signs of any kind, signs and placards applied to poles or any structure within a right-of-way, including utility poles and boxes and any temporary sign within railroad right-of-way, except for identification, warning and contact information placards applied by the owning utility.

The prohibited sign(s) mentioned above include but are not limited to political, election, for sale, garage sale, advertisement signs, etc. Signs in violation, can and will be removed at the discretion of the City of Levelland.
