Heat like you would NOT believe! I was formed in the centre of a sun, so long ago I cannot explain. Heat and pressure forced protons, neutrons and electrons together till my atoms formed. It happened as the sun exploded and forced the particles together into atoms of silver and gold.
But The Almighty had clearly called me to let my atoms bond together. He had it wrong. There was no way they could do that. My atoms were scattered throughout space by the supernova. Doomed, it seemed, to wander the voids forever.
Then I discovered gravity. It was calling us to join together. Maybe The Almighty knew what He was doing after all. We atoms started to cling to one another, and we formed bonds that held us together.
But no – this could not be the plan of Almighty God. Because atoms that were NOT silver were linking with us too. Very confusing! Was He Almighty God or not? Things were not happening the way they were supposed to. As more and more foreign atoms joined us, we found ourselves trapped inside rocks, that were linking together to form planets! We beautiful silver atoms were supposed to be shining in the light of the sun. Not hidden by dirt and rocks! We had a special calling – a beautiful one.
It was not happening. Then torture was added to the dirt insult! The torture of terrible atoms called sulfur. Our planet had gotten bigger and bigger until the pressure deep inside, where we were trapped, was so great first we melted, then the rock around us melted. That meant that the sulfur trapped in the rock mixed freely with superior atoms like us and forced themselves on us – one big, painful acid soup. We fought in vain.
“Help God,” we cried. But the torture continued. The rocks themselves were tortured too. Great cracks formed in the solid rock above us, and we were pushed up and up to the surface of the planet. It got cooler and slowly the rocks solidified again. Then we could start solidifying too.
What a relief. As we solidified, we were able to push the sulfur out, till we formed ourselves into little nuggets of silver. But although that was better, we were still not fulfilling our God’s great calling. There were still many bad atoms mixed in with us, and we could not see light. For a moment we had thought God was moving in us, but now we lay, cold and silent, for years beyond measure. More years. More years. More years. Why had God deserted us? “Time for more purification.” Was that the voice of God? Was He really going to get rid of the bad atoms at last?
Hope. NOISE. Horrible noise. Banging, clashing, grinding, scraping. Noise that got closer and closer till we found ourselves broken up and tossed into baskets. Oh the pain! Hadn’t we had enough pain? When would it end?
Then a moment of relief as we were carried into the light of day, and saw it for the first time – a new sun had formed and we were on a planet circling it.
But then we were tossed into noisy carriages and carted away to this HORRIFIC place. What had we ever done to deserve this? Where was God? Tossed into a furnace and heated till we melted again. Pain, pain, pain.
Sudden realisation. The bad atoms were not with us anymore – they had floated to the surface and were skimmed off and thrown away. We were PURE.
It felt so good as we cooled. We were pure at last! Now everything would be perfect. We could be what we were called to be. Bliss.
What is happening? This is wrong! I am being plasted all over an idol. How can I serve God like this?
At last I am thrown away. I am pulled off the idol and thrown into the furnace again. Help me, Lord. Help me be better.
I am made into a teapot. Much better.
But again eventually I wear out and am thrown into the furnace again.
The pain all over again. WHY?
This time I am made into a crown. I am on the head of a man kneeling before the throne of God. He takes me off and throws me down at the feet of God. Angels and Yeshua come and put me back on his head. No more pain.
Now I am truly pure.
