The Levelland Main Street, Levelland Marigolds, and South Plains College Student Relations have partnered together once again this year for a “Vintage Christmas Festival of Lights Christmas on the Square.”
On December 5 at 6 p.m., the event will begin at South Plains College as Dr. Satterwhite, Miss Caprock, Santa Claus, and Mrs. Claus join forces to light the amazing parade of trees on the West entrance to the SPC campus on College Avenue.
Once the trees are lit, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be whisked away to begin the parade into downtown at 6:15 p.m.
The Main Street Vintage Christmas Lighted parade will boast floats from various businesses, schools, organizations, families, and nonprofits.
The parade will make its way downtown from 11th Street at Lobo Lake and stops to drop off the long-awaited jolly man in the bright red suit...Santa Claus! Take note the parade route has changed this year.
Santa’s helpers, the Levelland Marigolds, will greet individuals at the gazebo and assign those a colorful ticket. Once an individual has their ticket, they can go enjoy the other festivities while they wait for their color to light up.
Once it does, those with the appropriate ticket can make their way back to the gazebo and take their place in line to see Santa while listening to talented musicians.
Those in attendance can enjoy a soft kooshie family snowball fight at Snowball Crossing. Please remember to leave the snowballs on the lawn when finished playing, or put them back in the large containers for others to enjoy year after year.
Attendee’s will be able to engage in activities available in North Pole Park and also savor delicious offerings from food trucks. Community members are encouraged to stroll around and admire the amazing decorated windows of the downtown merchants.
