OPEN-DOOR COMMUNITY BLANKETS

Members of the General Federation of Women’s Club Texas Las Fidelis Study Club met on December 10, 2024 at the Christ United Methodist Church in Levelland. Members donated $20 per person to off-set the cost of the flannel that was purchased to assemble blankets for the Open-Door Community. This was a Public Issue and Community Service Project. The meeting was called to order by President Sandra Stephenson and she led the group in the Club Collect. Suzanne Leggitt read the minutes from the previous two meetings, October 8th and November 12th. Betsy Moreland gave the financial report to the group. Members enjoyed refreshments of slider sandwiches, fruit tray and red velvet cake served with a Christmas punch. Maggie Husen and Jolene Sweeney were the hostesses for this delicious treat. Kaye Brown made Christmas Ornaments and they were distributed to the group. Members began to cut the flannel fabric edges into one inch strips. The group tied the strips into knots to assemble the blankets. Blankets were donated to Open-Door after completion. Members present were Fredda Schooler, Sandra Stephenson, Maggie Husen, Jolene Sweeney, Betsy Moreland, Dianne Bridges, Suzanne Leggit, and Brenda Grimes.
