Carolyn Jo Hook

Carolyn Jo Hook, 84, resided in Lynwood Nursing Home, passed away on October 24, 2022, due to complications from congestive heart failure. Carolyn, born on September 15, 1938, grew up on a farm in Bula, Texas. She studied Home Economics at Texas Tech University and, at the age of 21, married the love of her life, Dan Hook. She then went on to receive her teaching certificate at West Texas A&M before teaching fifth grade at West Elementary in Levelland. Carolyn and Dan adopted two beautiful children, David Hook in 1966, and Laura Hook in 1968, after which she retired from teaching and devoted her time to her kids.

Carolyn lived a full life, often enjoying cooking and sharing recipes, traveling with Dan and their children and grandchildren, playing bridge and socializing with her close friends.

She devoted much of her time and energy pursuing her faith at First Presbyterian Church in Levelland.

She is survived by her husband, Dan Hook; son, David Hook; daughter, Laura Hook; five grandchildren: Logan Hook, Jordan Hook, Joel Adams, Sarah Adams, and Daniel Adams; and one great-granddaughter, Nora Adams.

Carolyn’s service was held at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Levelland Friday, October 28.
