Funeral services for Daniel “Danny” Castro, 70, of Sundown, were held at 11 a.m Wednesday, September 28, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Levelland, with Deacon Frankie Ruiz officiating. Interment will be held at a later date, under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland. The reciting of the Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel. He passed away September 25, 2022, in Lubbock. Danny was born April 13, 1952, Lazaro, Sr. and Maria Castro, in Levelland.
He graduated from Levelland High School in 1972 .
Danny married Sally Castandea August 26, 1978, in Morton and they had six children from this union.
He worked for Sundown Oil Service, Key Energy and Well-Co. for many years.
Danny was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lazaro, Sr. and Maria Castro; two brothers, Pete Castro and Robert Castro; and a sister, Janie Machado.
He is survived by his spouse of 44 years, Sally Castro of Sundown; sons: Braulio “B.J.” (Emily) Castro of Lubbock and Antonio “A.J. “ Castro and Jamie J. Castro, both of Midland; daughters: Cristal Castro and Dora Daniel Rivera, both of Lubbock and Krystyna Castro of Round Rock; sisters: Victoria Quezada, Judy Castro and Cynthia Miller, all three of Levelland and Mary Blyou of Sweetwater; brothers: Frank Castro, Ricky Castro and Nick Castro, all three of Levelland and Lazaro Castro of San Antonio; and 10 grandchildren.
