Funeral services held for Jeannie Nichols

Funeral services for Jimmie Jeane “Jeannie” Nichols, 81, of Sundown, was at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 5, at First Baptist Church Levelland. Interment followed in the City of Levelland Cemetery, under the direction of Krestridge Funeral Home of Levelland. She passed away October

31,2022. Jeannie was born August 14, 1941, to James Nowlin and Mary Clifforjean Cox, in Duncan, Oklahoma. She graduated from Levelland High School and from Texas Tech University in 1972, with her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Jeannie married her soulmate and love of her life, Jim Nichols in 1976.

She taught kindergarten for 32 years. Jeannie retired in 2004, to help take care of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Jimmy” Nowlin Cox and Mary Clifforjean “Jean” Cox; late husband, Robert Lee Perkins; and a granddaughter, Krysta D’Nea White. Jeannie is survived by her spouse, Jim Nichols of Sundown; sons: Robert Perkins of Sundown, Jeremy Duhon of Lubbock and Charles Duhon of New Mexico; daughters, Cindy White of Georgia and Debbie Perkins-McCall of Lubbock; sister, Leila Strahan of Levelland; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
