Hortensia Ochoa

The family and friends of Hortensia Tencha Ochoa gathered to recite The Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. Monday, October 24, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Mass was held in honor of Hortensia at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, in Brownfield, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, surrounded by her family. Hortensia Ochoa was born April 13, 1944, to Seasario and Elosia Salas, in Ecleto, Texas.

She married Ferman Ochoa September 25, 1968; they were married for 53 years and had five children. Hortensia was a loving caring person. She had a contagious smile and was full of life. Her Catholic faith was strong and instilled in her family that God was to be first in all things. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren with all her heart. She had a big heart for her family. Hortensia worked for Ropes ISD for 32 years. So many children’s lives were touched as their paths crossed. Her legacy will continue to live through her family, friends and all the staff and children she touched at Ropes ISD. Hortensia is survived by her husband, Ferman Ochoa; children: Danny (Denise) Ochoa, David (Anita Vasquez) Ochoa, Dee Dee Ochoa, Delinda (Hector) Delgado, and Damacio Ochoa; 15 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren, with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sesario and Elosia Salas.
