Ida Drucilla “Dru” Simpson, 82, of Levelland, passed from this life on October 20, 2022, in Levelland.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, October 24, at Krestridge Funeral Home.
A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, at Krestridge Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
A proud Okie, Dru Simpson was born November 6, 1939, five miles outside of Ardmore, Oklahoma, on Highway 70, to Devela Sullivan Henshaw and Richard Toliver Henshaw.
She was an avid reader, reading thousands of books throughout her lifetime.
In her earlier years, Dru enjoyed coaching the Wheelers girls' softball team. She enjoyed playing games, "sister trips," fishing, dancing and Waylon Jennings.

Dru is survived by her daughter, Randi (Troy) Carnley of Lubbock; son, Jimmie Richard Pugh (Stacey) of Carlisle, Massachusetts; daughter, Cody (Nathan) Boggs of Levelland; granddaughter, Shanan (Denny) Carter of Levelland; grandson, Tanner (Amanda) Silva of Lubbock; grandson, Jordan (Katherine) Boggs of Levelland; grandson, Jacob Pugh of Carlisle, Massachusetts; granddaughter, Lauren Pugh of Irvine, California; great-granddaughter, Emma Pugh; great-grandchildren: Jaxon Irwin, Tyler A. Silva and Jade Silva; sisters: Donna Thompson of Littlefield, Diane (C.W.) Pittman of Ore City, Texas, and Delane (Ronnie) Whittle of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; her caregivers, Rona Wheeler and Gigi Solis; and her faithful dog, Olivia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Simpson; two grandsons, Gabriel and Tyler Silva; and a brother-in-law, David Thompson.
