KENNETH COURSEY
Kenneth Vann Coursey passed from this life on Aug. 31, 2026 in Lubbock, Texas. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Sept. 11 at Head Duarte Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas, Pastor Rush Coffman officiated.
Kenneth was born to Bob Wilburn Dobson and Opal Marie Coursey on April 17, 1948 in Levelland. He graduated while serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life and best friend of 55 years Barbara Ann Garrett on July 3, 1971 in Fairview, Texas and they had two children from this union.
They moved from Perryton, Texas and relocated back to Levelland in 1981. He worked as a professional hot oiler truck driver for several oil companies. Kenneth had great faith in God the word devoted describes him best. His hobbies were tinkering with his car engine, listening to his radio, fixing electronics, playing football and barbecuing. He was a great cook, and he made his kids laugh with his funny jokes. He was a hard worker that provided for his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bob Dobson and Opal Marie Coursey and sister Sandra Coursey and brother William Dobson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years Barbara Ann Coursey of Levelland, daughter Nicole Coursey Lyles of Levelland; son Kenneth Vann Coursey Jr. (Angie) of Orange, Texas; grandchildren Amber Lyles, Jack Lyles, Kaydence Coursey, Justin Coursey and Subrina (Kasey) Colley; great grandchildren Mallie Colley, Brylee Colley and Rory Colley and sister Velda Burnette of Deer Park, Tx.
