Graveside services for Sandra KayCox,75,ofSundown,formerly of Levelland, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, at the City of Sundown Cemetery, with Minister John Carr officiating, under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home and staff of Levelland. She passed away September 29, 2022, in Sundown. Sandra was born June 22,1947, to Oren and Irene Peden, in Levelland. Sandra was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and “GG.” She graduate from Whiteface high school in 1965 and continued her education at Eastern New Mexico University and South Plains College in Levelland. Sandra married Jerry Cox November 23, 1966, in Levelland. They had two children from this union.
They moved to Sundown in 1996, from Levelland. Sandra was a secretary for her family owned oil business, D. C. Oil Company, Inc. for many years in Sundown. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed shooting her rifle, song writing, singing and poetry. Sandra had a wonderful sense of humor, loved all children, especially her grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished for many years by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oren and Irene Peden; and a granddaughter, Whitley Garcia.
She is survived by her spouse of 56 years, Jerry Cox; son: Jason (Teresa) Cox; daughter, Connie (Charles) Koeppen, all of Sundown; sisters, Linda (Johnny) McCly of Lubbock and Ginger (Jimmy) Bellah of Merkel; brother, Randy (Diana) Peden of Lubbock; and six grandchildren: Kaysee (Justin) Dyer, Maricela Garcia, David (Haley) Cox, Taylor (Joy) Koeppen, Robert (Jessica) Box and Robert Koeppen; four greatgrandchildren: MorganCox,Rixon Box, Madison Keoppen and Oden Koeppen; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers include family and friends.
