The Ropes Eagles swept the Lockney Longhorns last Friday 20-3 and 24-1 in the best of three UIL Class 2A High School Bi-District Baseball Playoff series at Lubbock Christian High School.
Ropes advances to the area round. They will face Sunray in Dimmit. Game one of the series will be Thursday at 5 p.m.
Game two of the series will be Friday at 4p.m. If necessary will follow game two.
Game1
Ropes cruised past Longhorns in game one, 20-3.
Ropes led 20-0 at the end of four innings in the run rule shortened game. The run rule states that when either team is up by 10 runs or more at the end of five innings, the game is called.
Hayden Torres gave up no runs and no hits with five strikeouts and three walks over three innings. Garrett Gilliam gave up three runs on three hits with four strikeouts and three walks in two innings of relief.
Marmolejo had two runs on two hits and an RBI. Koby Sullivan had a hit and an RBI. Gilliam had three runs, two hits and two RBIs.
Braxxin Partington had four runs. Logan Delgado had a run and a hit. Kade Franklin had a run, three hits and five RBIs.
Torres had two runs, three hits and two RBIs. Brady Bryan had a run and an RBI. Branson Beck had two runs, a hit and an RBI. Bode Franklin had three runs, two hits and two RBIs. Stetson Wims had a run.
Game2
Game two was more dominance from the Eagle’s offense. Ropes defeated Lockney, 24-1.
Ropes led 21-0 at the end of 4 ½ innings of play in a run rule shortened game.
Marmolejo gave up no runs and no hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over three innings of work.
Kade Franklin gave up one run on one hit with two strikeouts and two walks in relief.
Marmolejo had two RBIs. Gilliam had two runs, two hits and three RBIs. G. Morgan had a hit and two RBIs.
Partington had two runs, a hit and two RBIs. Wims had an RBI. Delgado had four runs, two hits and an RBI.
