On Friday, the Levelland Lobos traveled to Brownfield to take on the Brownfield Cubs where the Lobos won in a 38-0 blowout win.
The first possession of the game for the Lobos ended in an interception close to the endzone where the Cubs took over.
Although Brownfield had the momentum, they could not do anything with their possession as they had to punt it away.
The first score of the game finally came from a screen pass to the running back Noah Martin from Ethan Salazar to make the score 7-0 after the made PAT from Eli Randol.
Levelland didn’t slow down though as they scored three more times in the second quarter.
The second scoring drive came from another screen pass, this time from Boston Winfield to Ricky Rodriguez.
The next few points came from a field goal after the Lobo offense stalled out near the endzone to get them another three points.
The next touchdown came off of a blocked field goal from the Levelland defense in which Eryk Jones scooped the ball up in stride to take it to the house to make the score 24-0 at the half.
In the second half of the game, the Levelland offense had two more touchdowns while the Levelland defense held strong in not letting up a score.
The first score of the second half came off of a deep pass from Winfield to Gage Potter to get the Lobos another touchdown to make the score 31-0.
The last touchdown of the game came from another touchdown pass from Winfield, this time to Bryson Golightly from six-yards out.
The Lobo offense finished with 321 yards of total offense with 206 yards through the air and 115 yards on the ground.
Winfield led the Lobos in passing with 113 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions on the night.
Salazar had another 93 yards through the air with one touchdown and one interception.
Levelland freshman Noah Martin led the team in rushing with 53 yards on nine carries.
Ricky Rodriguez gave Levelland another 24 yards on five carres, Jake Potter had another 14 yards on 11 carries and Zion Childers had 14 yards on three carries.
The Lobos leading receiver on the night was Kaden Brogden who had three catches for 44 yards.
Gage Potter had 40 yards on one catch and one touchdown, Zaden Carillo had two catches for 40 yards, Martin had one catch for 27 yards and a touchdown, Eryk Jones had three catches for 18 yards, Jake Potter had three catches for 18 yards and Golightly had one catch for six yards and one touchdown.
Leading the Lobos in tackling was Eli Randol and Tobias Gavina with nine tackles each on the night.
Noah Tienda had another seven along with Gage French, Matthew Romero and Gage Potter had six a piece, Tanane Brackens had five, Zarian Valderas and Jake Potter had four, Jesiah Delgado, Golightly and Gabriel Hernandez each had three tackles a piece and Jones and Sean Landrum each had one tackle on the night.
The Levelland defense forced two fumbles on the night with Tienda and Jones each recovering the ball for the offense while Jake Potter had the only interception for the team.
The Levelland Lobos progress to 2-2 on the season as they get ready to host the Lake View Chiefs this Friday at 7 p.m.
Lake View is coming off of a 31-13, loss to the Lubbock High Westerners.
