The Levelland Lobos took on the Idalou Wildcats this past Friday where they lost 33-16 on the road.
Idalou was the first team on the board with a touchdown on their first drive after the Levelland offense ended their first drive with an interception. The Wildcats punched in a touchdown to make the score 7-0.
The Lobos gave up another touchdown from five yards out to extend the Wildcats lead 13-0 late in the second quarter.
The game was tough on the Levelland defense as they weren’t on the board until late in the second quarter after Idalou scored their third touchdown of the day, with the Lobos forcing a fumble and taking it all the way for the two-point conversion and making the score 19-2.
On the pursuing drive Levelland took the ball all the way down the field, scoring on a touchdown run making the score 19-9 going into the halftime break.
Going into the third quarter Levelland’s defense would go on another long drive against the Idalou offense where they gave up another touchdown to make the score 26-9.
The Lobo offense responded with another score of their own with a short touchdown run from two yards out to make the score 26-16 after a good PAT.
For the end of the game the Lobo offense would not score again while the Idalou offense scored one more time on the night to make the score 33-16 for the final.
The Levelland offense had a tough night with the Idalou defense having 238 total offensive yards with 84 yards on the ground with the rest of the 154 going through the air. The Lobos only turned the ball over twice with one interception and one fumble during the team’s contest. The Levelland defense had a hard time as well giving up 156 yards on the ground and 72 passing yards in the game. They were able to get the ball twice off of a interception and fumble during the night.
The Levelland Lobos fall to 1-2 on the season as they get ready to take on the Brownfield Cubs this Friday on the road at 7 p.m.
