The Whiteface Antelopes dominated the Sundown Roughnecks in a 64-53 home win last Tuesday in UIL high school boys’ basketball action.
Whiteface led 16-10 at the end of the first quarter and took a 29-19 lead in the half-time locker room.
The Antelopes led 50-33 at the end of three periods and endured a fourth quarter Sundown rally that was too little, too late.
Brighton Scoggins had a big night with 25 points for Whiteface. Jeremiah Rendon had 11. Ethan Kauffman had nine. Jeremias Chavez had eight. Gavin Baker had four. Noah Rendon had three. Joel Fortner had two.
Jaryn Flores led the Roughnecks with 18 points, followed by Watson Evans with 12. Noah Peralez had 10. Adan Escamilla had seven. Alex Bocanegra had five and Jayson Martinez had two.
The Antelopes are in the Borden County Tournament this weekend while Sundown is in the Farwell Tournament.
