IOC bans men from women’s sports

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that beginning in 2028, women’s sports will be limited to biological females.According to an IOC press release, it is a step forward for fairness and safety in women’s athletics.

Sandlin, Igo win Sands Invitational

The Sundown Roughnecks and Roughettes golf teams both competed in the Sands Invitational at the Rockwind Golf Course in Hobbs, New Mexico, this past Monday, and they came away with two individual champions that powered both teams’ runner-up finishes.

The Sundown Roughettes went on the road for a district softball matchup against the New Home Lady Leopards this past Tuesday night, resulting in the Roughettes run ruling them 17-0 across three innings.

The Ropes Lady Eagles softball team went on the road to face the Kress Lady Roos this past Tuesday night, resulting in Ropes crushing them 16-5 across five innings.As a team, the Lady Eagles bested the Lady Roos 12-3 in hits, 9-8 in walks drawn and 1-2 in errors committed.

Levelland Lobo Daniel Duran signed with Messiah University on an E-Sports scholarship recently at Levelland High School. Messiah University is a Division III college in Pennsylvania. Duran will play the game “Valorant.” Pictured to Daniel’s left is Ana Duran and to his right is Gerardo Duran.

Lobos earn pair of wins over Spring Break

The Levelland Lobos baseball team earned a pair of road wins this past week over the Spring Break, beating Lubbock Estacado 10-1 and Nazareth 6-3.The Lobos started off the break with a win over Estacado on Tuesday, which was led by an excellent outing on the mound by Abram Arteaga.Arteaga pitched 6.

Indians secure series win over Roughnecks

The Sundown Roughnecks played host to the Morton Indians for a district baseball matchup this past Friday, resulting in the Indians winning 19-16 across eight innings to earn their second consecutive win over the Roughnecks.
