The Levelland City Council will meet for a regular meeting on Aug. 3.
The council is expected to consider and take necessary action on to propose a tax rate ceiling for FY 2026/27 as well an ambulance service contract with Covenant Ambulance Service.
The council is expected to consider and take action on appointing a board member for the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority. Concerning a grant for an RMS/CAD System and Mitigation, the council is expected to authorize the city manager or chief of police to execute all necessary documents.
The council is expected to consider and take action on Ordinance 1120 approving a negotiated settlement between the executive committee of cities served by Atmos West Texas and Atmos Energy Corporation, West Texas Division regarding the company’s 2026 Rate Review Mechanism filing on first reading.
Council members are expected to consider and take action on Resolution No. 2026-11 and Resolution No. 2026-12, respectively, approving an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation regarding the closing of two blocks of state highway for the Trunk or Treat event, the event application for Ladies Night Out as well road closure, and Resolution No. 2026-13 concerning the road closure of two blocks for the Festival of Lights and Christmas on the Square event.
The council is expected to consider and take action on Ordinance 1121 adjusting utility rates on water, wastewater and sanitation department.
City manager James Fisher is expected to report on staff updates, staff/citizen recognitions and items of community interest.
The council is expected to go into excutive session followed by a budget workshop.
