Emily Spaulding & Ryan Phelan exchange wedding vows February 17

Judge Jay M. (Pat) and Cara Phelan are pleased to announce the wedding of their son, Ryan Patrick Phelan to Emily Ann Spaulding of Plano, Texas. The bride’s parents are Dean Spaulding of Dallas, Texas and Martha and Jeff Albers of Wimberly, Texas. The couple were married February 17, 2024, at 2:30 pm at the Marty Leonard Community Chapel in Fort Worth Texas. The Chapel was decorated with classic white and blush roses accented with flowing leafy greens. Prior to the ceremony, selections by Handel, Bach and Pachelbel were played by a violin duet, Vonna McMeans and Erica Adams. The duet played Canon in D, by Pachelbel as the bride was escorted down the isle by her father Dean Spaulding and stepfather Jeff Albers. The bride’s father, Dean Spaulding, presented the bride to the groom. The ceremony was performed by Charley Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas. The bride was dressed in an ivory mermaid gown designed by Madeline Gardner. The gown featured an intricately beaded, embroidered bodice with a sweetheart neckline and dramatic flounced organza skirt and train. Her hair was accented with a long organza headpiece delicately tucked into her hair. The bride carried a bouquet of white and blush roses accented with flowing greenery. The groom was dressed in a custom three-piece dark navy suit by H.G. Thrash Clothiers in Lubbock. The groom wore a single white rose on his lapel.

Friends of the bride and groom, Michelle Pearson of Levelland and Antonio Arreola-Garcia of San Antonio each read scriptures selected by the bride and groom. The bride and groom were presented to their guest and exited to La Rejoissance, by Handel.

Guests were invited to join the bride and groom for a celebratory dinner following the ceremony. The dinner was held in the domed rooftop room of the Reata Restaurant of Fort Worth. The tables were decorated with arrangements of white and blush roses accented with flowing greenery. Flowers were provided by Heirloom Flowers and Goods of Slaton, Texas. Portraits of the bride decorated the entryway. Guests were served hors d’oeuvers followed by a dinner with selections of glazed tenderloin, citrus chicken, and glazed salmon. Throughout the dinner, a video presentation showed photos of the bride and groom throughout the years.

The wedding cake was a three-tier ivory frosted vanilla cake with lemon and raspberry filling from the Swiss Pastry Shop of Fort Worth, Texas. A table with individual containers with the couple’s favorite candy was provided for the guests.

The grandparents of the groom in attendance were Harold and Marilyn Phelan of Granbury, Texas.

The grandparents of the bride in attendance were Orley and Karen White of Plano, Texas and Jean McMeans of Oak Point, Texas.

A pre-wedding family dinner was held at Lucile’s in Fort Worth, hosted by Judge Jay M. (Pat) and Cara Phelan of Levelland, Texas.
