LHS BBQ TEAM–The Levelland High School BBQ Team placed sixth out of 21 teams when they competed in South Lake recently, under the direction of Ag Teacher Chris Estrada. The team brought home a ribbon from the food science activity and qualified two more students to compete at the State level to be held in May. The team currently has a total of five students going to state. The project is a learning opportunity that teaches students about meat judging, the science of cooking, wood seasoning and working through problems of heat and temperature to get the food just right, as well as learning focus, self-control, discipline, patience and a few life lessons.
