Local DI team advances to state competition

Last month, students from around the region competed in the annual Destination Imagination (DI) competition in Midland. Most were there with their schools, but one team, the Rocket Rockstars, represented the city of Levelland as an independent team sponsored by Reliant Realty.

The Hockley County Food Box and South Plains Community Action continue to accept food and monitary donations.Working to keep families and individuals fed, the food box is accepting donations such as: canned vegetables, canned meat, canned fruit, dry goods and nonperishable food items.

Levelland ISD held their 2025 District Spelling Bee Monday in the LMS Auditorium. LMS sixth-grader Caleb Willey won the contest by spelling the word 'hopscotch.' The Bee went for 15 rounds. The runner-up was South fourth-grader Kaelynn Cuevas.
