27th annual Scholarship Gala to feature SPC student performers

In addition to live and silent auctions, guests at South Plains College’s 27th annual Scholarship Gala can enjoy live performances featuring SPC students, faculty and alumni.Three commercial music students will take the stage at the Gala, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Feb.

Levelland Noon Lions Club hosts blood drive Feb. 13

The Levelland Noon Lions Club will host the “Straight from the Heart” Blood Drive Thursday, February 13, from 10 a.m. 2 p.m. at the LISD Boardroom.The project idea started when a club member had multiple blood transfusions in 2023, and club members wanted to do something meaningful to honor him.

Levelland ISD is reminding parents and care givers that students will be out Friday, Feb. 14 and Monday, Feb. 17.Classes will reconvene Tuesday, Feb. 18 at regular time.

Two confirmed measles cases identified

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has announced two confirmed cases of measles in residents of Gaines County.Both cases are in unvaccinated school age children who were hospitalized in Lubbock and have since been discharged.
