Keep Levelland Beautiful recently partnered with the Hockley County Memorial Library and their summer reading program to provide local children with a fun and educational experience focused on bees, pollination, and environmental stewardship.
During the event, participants learned about the important role bees play in pollinating plants and supporting healthy ecosystems. Through interactive activities, children discovered how pollinators help flowers thrive.
Following the educational presentation, children participated in a special seed hunt, searching for eggs filled with flower seeds. Each participant was able to take home seeds to plant, water, and nurture, encouraging them to play an active role in beautifying their own neighborhoods and contributing to a cleaner, greener Levelland.
'Teaching children about pollinators and giving them a hands-on opportunity to grow flowers helps foster a sense of pride and responsibility for our community,' said Angie Covarrubias, Special Events Coordinator. 'These small actions can make a big difference in keeping Levelland beautiful for future generations.'
Keep Levelland Beautiful extends its appreciation to the library organizers, KLB volunteers, and families who participated in the event. By combining education, fun, and community involvement, the program helped inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
