Seal coat season begins for West Texas

LUBBOCK DISTRICT – More than 307 miles of state roadways are scheduled for preventative maintenance work this summer.The roads are part of the Lubbock District’s 2025 seal coat program.“Work is about to begin on TxDOT’s annual road maintenance summer project.
REVAMPING OLD TENNIS COURTS - The City of Levelland Parks Department has been working to transition the old tennis courts adjacent from the Levelland Fire Station on 4th Street into pickleball courts. The work has been done in-house by the parks staff and the project is being funded by the Levelland Community Development Corporation (LCDC). Park Director Dustin Reichelt explained that there is still work needing to be done before the courts will be open. The City of Levelland will announce the opening date

The LFD received an alarm call in the 600 block of Avenue H. Upon arrival and after investigation they found the alarm to be sounding and the lights going off. The LFD contacted the maintenance personnel and upon their arrival the alarm stated it was the smoke alarm in the elevator.
