Sundown city council to meet July 14

A regular meeting of the City of Sundown city council will be held on July 14 at city hall at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is expected to include a statement from the mayor regarding appropriate conduct at city meetings, a budget work session, as well as citizen appearances.

Sundown Oil Patch Day set for Aug. 8

The Sundown Chamber will be hosting the annual Sundown Oil Patch Day on Aug. 8 at Sunset Park, complete with fun, food and local vendors.Events will kick off with a parade at 9:30 a.m. with lineup at 9 a.m. , followed by volleyball, cornhole and ragball tournaments.

City council approves resolutions, ordinances

The Levelland City Council held its regular meeting on July 6 to pass several resolutions.In their first order of business, the council passed Resolution No. 2026-09 authorizing an application to the Events Trust Fund Program for the 2026 Levelland Horse Sales Breeder’s Futurity.

HCCU's 3rd annual shoe drive

The Hockley County Credit Union (HCCU) is currently taking donations for its 3rd annual shoe drive, asking that community members wishing to give bring their donations to the HCCU office at 504 Clubview Drive in Levelland before July 31st.
